The Support I Needed

“The jeans I couldn’t do up last summer YEP DID THEM UP! I’m a rockstar, sure I did the work, but Ashley showed me that I was capable and showed me the path to improvement and strength…. you should absolutely consider giving her a go! I never ever thought I would be where I am and only getting MORE AWESOME! This journey has really just begun and I can’t wait till she shows me what this AMAZING BODY is capable of!!”

Amazing Coaches

“I cannot say enough about how wonderful Kennedy Harding is. I have experienced her progression as a coach from the very beginning. As a person, she is warm, caring and genuine. As a coach, she is committed, flexible, and always in your corner. My recent training with Kennedy was to help alleviate pain that I was experiencing in my calves. Together, we did a movement assessment and she began working with me to try and remedy my discomfort. Weeks later, we did another movement assessment, and when my mobility and pain had improved Kennedy was more excited than I was! She prepares programming every week, and helps me to complete it, whether it is through virtual coaching or on my own. She is committed to helping her athletes, and providing coaching in whatever manner works for you. Surprise cameos by pets and toddlers don’t even phase her. It is because of her guidance that I am slowly returning to pain free jumping, and I am really proud of our work together. I would always recommend her to help with your fitness needs.”

This Changed My Life

“I’ve known for a long time that I needed to make some life style changes. I’ve slowly gained weight over the years which besides health concerns, I’ve found it more difficult to keep up with my active kids. As well, signs of health concerns started to appear. My LDL cholesterol was okay, however, my good cholesterol was too low (the only way to raise this is exercise). My blood sugar was starting to creep to the high end of pre-diabetes into the diabetic reign. My first step to regain some control over my health was dietary changes. This had a good impact, my blood sugar levels came down. However, this can only take you so far, so incorporating exercise into my life was the next logical step. To get the ball rolling, I did what any husband would do. I asked my wife to get me a gym membership for my birthday, however, I highlighted some of my concerns previously mentioned. She enrolled me in the On Ramp program.

Wow, this changed my life. The On Ramp program, lead by Coach Ashley Werner, explained how the Strength & Conditioning program worked, and all the fancy lingo. The program went through a baseline assessment, and then went through some of the key exercises and weight lifting to help me to do this is safely and with the appropriate weights, and a follow up assessment. The influence of a positive role model with words like, “This will be fun”, “You can do this”, “You can do two more” (or five more), was really great and helped me build some confidence. With the tools that On Ramp armed with me, I started to integrate into the regular Strength & Conditioning classes. Everyone was very welcoming and encouraging. I quickly realized that what appeared to be intimidating from the outside, was in reality a much warmer and welcoming place then I could ever imagine. I still have a long ways to go, but some of the little things I’ve noticed in my 3 months have been: more flexibility (I can pick up something I’ve dropped on the floor much easier), more strength, I’ve lost about 15 pounds and 2 belt loops, more energy, more confidence, reduced blood sugar levels, more skipping then I’ve ever done in my life before, more running as well, defeating gravity by 20 inches with my box jumps, and a new group of friends that are encouraging and motivating. The On Ramp program helped to ease me into incorporating exercise into my life in a safe and positive manner. Thank you Conquer Health and Performance, On Ramp and Coach Ashley, and of course my wife for getting it all set up!!”

Happy I Took The Leap

“I have a pretty typical story: busy life, shift work, bad habits (hello bottle-s- of wine), relationship weight (why is this a thing btw). I was living life knowing I wasn’t the healthiest but “whatever I’m young I’ll get to it eventually.” then BOOM – suddenly I realized; I wasn’t happy. I was 50+lbs overweight, tired (like all..the..time), back pain, knee pain; all of the pain. Enter, the community of Conquer Health & Performace *tadaaa*. I had tried to eat better and work out on my own so many times, but had no idea what I was doing and never stuck with anything long enough to see results (sound familiar?).

From my first interaction at Conquer I knew this was going to be different; because I could tell it was going to be FUN. I was going to be encouraged and pushed to be the best version of myself. 8 months later it turns out I was right (love when that happens). Conquer is a place to grow and harness your strength and to truly learn to believe in it. Ashley has been a HUGE component for me in this journey, she encourages me, makes me laugh, believes in me on days when I’m not so sure and maybe most importantly plays really awesome music in our personal training sessions.

The programs Conquer runs (both in group workouts and personal training sessions) stem from functional fitness and the belief that preventative care and fitness is the key to being healthy as a whole *as a health care professional I completely support this concept*. They also focus on individual needs, I always have the opportunity to tailor a workout to my needs and I think that makes all the difference to being successful. I have lost almost 13inches and 25lbs so far and my back pain is significantly improved but more important is what I’ve gained – a community, amazing friends, laughter and post workout dance parties. I’m so happy I took the leap and found Conquer Health and Performance, and I believe anyone will feel the same way if they decide to come hang out with us :)”
